A representative of each member organization serves on an Industrial Advisory Board which provides advice on policy and project selection. Members collaborate with academic researchers on projects, sponsor graduate students via co-ops and internships, and share university research facilities. Many students are hired by sponsor companies upon graduation.

Research results are presented to members at semi-annual research reviews. Technical reports are distributed throughout the year to keep members abreast of research developments.

Full membership in CACC is $50,000 and allows access to all research areas and full voting rights. Associate memberships of $20,000 allow access to any one research area.
